| The following paragraph is a good analogy that describes what Carolyn does; | ||
| Life can be like a River
and your place in life can be compared to a swimmer who is swimming down
the River of Life. The River of Life has a current Sometimes the current is going against you and sometimes the current is going with you: this is when we describe everything as going "swimmingly" When a person is depressed or under a lot of stress the current in the River of Life can feel like it is going strongly against you. You may be working or swimming hard just to stay in the one spot and keep your head afloat. You may even feel as though you are floating backwards. The River of Life may also have rocks or obstacles to get around or avoid. There could also be sharks in the River that are like people who want to hurt you or cause you harm. My role is a bit like that of a Swimming Coach, showing you how to become a stronger, better swimmer and how to avoid the rocks and deal with the sharks. |

It is a scientific fact that our thoughts cause
our feelings and behaviours, not external things, like people, situations
and events. We can change the way we think to feel / act better even if the situation has not changed. When our brains are healthy, our thinking causes us to feel and act the way we do. Carolyn can assist you to identify the thinking that is causing negative feelings and behaviours and learn how to replace this thinking with thoughts that lead to more desirable reactions and outcomes. Positive results can be achieved often with less than twelve sessions. Carolyn Rogers will find out what you want out of life and then help you to achieve those goals. |
